MARINELLA SENATORE
PERFORMANCE
Marinella
Senatore is a multi-disciplinary artist and her practice has a strong
collective and participatory dimension. In 2013 she founded The School of
Narrative Dance, a nomadic, free of charge school focused on
non-hierarchical learning and emancipation. The multidisciplinary school,
conceived as an alternative training ground, is characterized by free workshops
engaging local groups and by energetic and soulful, public processions. The
artist and participants together orchestrate narratives, tracing new connections between contemporary relations.
Here is our big news – Marinella Senatore will
bring The School of Narrative Dance to Malta in 2020. The performance will be taking over Republic Street in Valletta when things go back to the way they were and
we can all participate together! Until then, you can start training with the choreography that she shared with us in this video.
It is an exercise to activate your body. It is not only a fun activity, but also a form of resistance to our current times. As we are staying home to safeguard public health, we have more time for thoughts and imagination, and the best way to release them is to combine them with movement. Let’s make our voice and body
talk together and keep boredom away!

The School of Narrative Dance performance in Valletta is supported by Valletta Cultural Agency, Istituto Italiano di Cultura (Valletta) and Q-International Qadriennale di Roma.
